Allan Company believes that recycling has an important role to play in the health of our country and our planet. The more efficient, the more thorough, and the more self-sustaining our recycling efforts are, the more good we can do.
Allan Company was founded in 1963 by Stephen A. Young. Today we’re one of the largest companies in the industry, but we’re still family-run and still holding onto our family values.
In the 1980s, we were one of the first recyclers in California to participate in the California Beverage Containers Recycling and Litter Reduction Act. Today we’re one of the largest processors of bottles and cans in the state.
In the 1990s, we helped pioneer single stream recycling. Working in partnership with municipal and private waste haulers, Allan Company installed advanced equipment and created new procedures to sort recyclables for market.
Today we have one of the only nine recycling facilities in the US to be certified by Recycling Industry Operating Standard (RIOS). It represents the highest level of quality in our industry.
Allan Company is a member in good standing and actively involved in numerous recycling organizations such as:
The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI)
The Association of California Recycling Industries (ACRI)
The Printers Industry of America (PIA)
The Pacific Coast Paper Box Makers Association (PCPBMA)
The National Association of Information Destruction (NAID)
The Association of Independent Corrugated Converters (AICC)
