About Us

1960s

Stephen A. Young founds Allan Company® in Baldwin Park, California, laying the groundwork for a business built on family values and a commitment to recycling excellence. The business is formally incorporated as Cedarwood-Young Company and would evolve into one of America’s premier recycling enterprises.

1970s

Allan Company began their partnership with mills in the Far East by marketing materials directly overseas and expanded its operations into San Diego.

1980s

Allan Company helped to pioneer California's beverage container recycling program and remains one of the state's largest processors.

1990s

Allan Company revolutionized single-stream recycling through partnerships with waste haulers and cutting-edge technology.

2000s

Allan Company added locations in Santa Ana, Glendale, and a second facility in San Diego.

2010s

Additional recycling locations were added in Palmdale and Fresno. Allan Company’s Baldwin Park operation became the first West Coast RIOS Certified recycling facility.

Today

Allan Company currently operates 9 locations from Fresno to San Diego, including 2 MRF’s, and processes more than 500,000 tons of recyclable materials annually.
